Obituary for Concetta Sabino (Izzo) Concetta (Izzo) Sabino, 86, loving wife of the late Marcellino Sabino, passed away Thursday June 28, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fondola Comune di Formicola, P. Caserta, Italy on October 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Pasqualina Izzo. Previously of Cheshire, she moved to Meriden to live with her daughter Lina.
Mrs. Sabino was employed by Napier for 20 years prior to retirement. Concetta enjoyed cooking, gardening and going to the casino with her late husband Marcellino. She also enjoyed her nightly conversations with her best friend Angelina Bertoldo.
Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Sabino is survived by her three children, John Sabino and his wife Mary (Weathers), Lina Zajac and her husband Stanley and Anthony Sabino; her 12 grandchildren, Neda and her fiancé’ Zach, Gianna, Angela, Marcello and Isabella Sabino, Tyler and his wife Christina, Andrew and his wife Samantha, Marcel and Christopher Zajac and Giovanni, Marcellino and Giuseppe Sabino; a great-granddaughter Nicole Zajac; her sister, Antonia Palmieri; her two brothers, Antonio Izzo and Giovanni (Domenica) Izzo; sisters and brothers-in-law, Agnese (Michelle), Antonio (Lidia), Emanuelle, Angelina and Antonietta. Concetta is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and her best friend, Angelina Bertoldo.
She was predeceased by her brother, Rinaldo Izzo; her two sisters, Teresa Izzo and Ersilia Palmieri and her in-laws, Tomasso, Gennaro, Giaccomo, Vincenza, Luigi and Carmella. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Saturday, June 30th at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden and at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Campus for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
