Obituary for Joseph Dionizio Joseph Dionizio (Joe Diz), 82, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 after a lengthy and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. His loving wife of 60+ years, Mildred (Kelly) Dionizio, was by his side. Born in Meriden on November 28, 1935, he was the son of the late Manual and Nellie (Fama) Dionizio.
He was a longtime manager of My Dad’s Steak House, Jacoby’s and Sans-Souci’s restaurants. He also worked for Ragozzino Foods and Dolce & Reinhart distributors. Besides his wife Millie, he is survived by his five sons and their spouses, Joseph Dionizio, John and Liz Dionizio, Robert and Da V. Dionizio, David and Angela L. Dionizio and Steven and Lisbet C. Dionizio; 11 grandchildren, Richard and Gabriel Castro, Jason and Brittany Dionizio, Kyle Porter, David, Jessica, Anthony, Joseph and Gabbie Dionizio, Krystal Dionizio, and great-grandson David Allen Dionizio.
He is also survived by his two sisters, Elizabeth Fontanella and Anne McLaughlin, and two brothers, Anthony Dionizio and Richard Dionizio. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 250 Gypsy Lane, Meriden, CT 06450. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. The family is grateful for the compassionate care from the doctors, nurses, aides and staff at Westfield Nursing Home – Apple Rehab Meriden.
