Obituary for Virginia Starrett Virginia Sophie Starrett, age 91, wife of the late Nathaniel G. Starrett Jr., passed away peacefully on June 6, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. Ginnny, as her friends knew her, was born on October 5, 1926 in Mineola, NY. She was the daughter of George and Emma (Schligel) Betscha.

She resided in Meriden, CT for over 60 years. Mrs. Starrett was employed by AGC (Aero Gasket Company) in South Meriden as a lab technician and retired in the early 90’s to travel the United States with her husband. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Angels, Holy Angels Campus since the early 1960’s.

She volunteered for many years at the Soup Kitchen the church supported until her health declined. Ginny is survived by her four daughters, Susan, Carol, Cheryl and Diane, and her one son, Nathaniel; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchilden, who gave her much happiness. She was predeceased by her two brothers and a sister as well as their spouses.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Holy Angels Campus, 585 Main St., Meriden, CT 06451. Burial will follow at a later date. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450.
