Obituary for Lorraine Lewandowski (Horton) Lorraine Lewandowski, 71, beloved wife of Frank Lewandowski, died on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Midstate Medical Center, where she had devoted over forty-two years of her life as an ER Nurse. Born in Winsted, CT on February 2, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Mary Horton. Lorraine was a life-long Meriden resident.

She graduated from Meriden School of Nursing then started her career at Meriden Hospital. Mrs. Lewandowski was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. Lorraine was a devoted Yankees fan.

She was extremely passionate about Star Trek. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends and she was an avid reader. She loved many things including the beach, animals (especially the wildlife in her backyard!

), but most of all her family. Besides her husband, she is survived by her four daughters, Alicia Lewandowski, who shared her mother’s passion of helping others and followed in her footsteps as a nurse, Stephanie Lewandowski, Jennifer Lewandowski and her fiancé, Michael Doyle and Catherine Hesbach and her husband Jason and her grandchildren, Gabriel Hesbach and soon to be born Elijah Hesbach. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Horton.

The funeral will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St, Stanislaus, Church, St. Faustina Parish, 82 Akron Street, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden on Thursday, July 5th from 4 to 7 p.m. As green was Lorraine’s favorite color, her family asks that you wear something green or Yankee pinstripe in her memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Avenue, Meriden, CT 06450.
