Obituary for Marcel Boutin Marcel Guy Boutin, 87, devoted husband of Jeanne (Lehoux) Boutin, passed away peacefully at Meriden Center on Wednesday, Sept 5, 2018. He was born in Ste-Marguerite, Quebec, Canada on May 9, 1931 to the late Joseph and Marie Anna (Lacasse) Boutin and was the oldest of 10 children. Marcel immigrated to Connecticut from Canada in 1956 in search of a better life with more opportunities and was drafted in the United States Army shortly thereafter.

After serving in the Army for several years, he married the love of his life on June 25, 1960. Marcel was employed for many years by MRM Industries in Meriden until its closing. He then began a new career at Hobson & Motzer until his retirement in 1994.

Marcel was a hard-working family man, constantly working on home projects and teaching his children many trades. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Marcel and his wife enjoyed over 15 years as snow birds, residing in Florida for the winters.

Besides his loving wife of 58 years, Marcel is survived by his three sons, Richard (Deborah), Paul (late Heidi) and Patrick (fiancée Robin Soboleski), and his daughter Lisa Piscitelli (fiancé Michael Antol). Marcel will be fondly remembered by his 5 grandchildren, Zachary, Ashley, Marissa, Justin and Jessica. He is also survived by his four brothers, Raymond, Francois (Ghislaine), Ronald (Denise), Maurice (Rejeanne) and his five sisters, Yvette, Louise, Louisette, Madeleine (late Antoine Gagnon) and Therese (Gerard Roy).

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife’s sisters, brothers and their spouses, Pauline (late Henri Ferland), Louise (Bernard Bernier), Lorraine (late Louis Bilodeau), Mariette (late Andre Lehoux), Louiselle (late Jean-Luc Lehoux), late Jeannine and Ferdnand Montminy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom reside in Canada. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden, CT 06450. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church.

Burial with military honors will follow in St. Laurent Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 on Friday, September 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. The family would like to thank the many nurses and staff at the Meriden Center for their skilled and compassionate care of Marcel on his journey home.
