Obituary for Luz “Queen Esther” Molina-Sepulveda Luz Esther Molina-Sepulveda, better known as Queen Esther, 98 ½, wife of the late Jose A. Sepulveda, died on October 1, 2018 in Florida after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lares, Puerto Rico on February 20, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Juan Antonia Molina and Bruna Gerena. Esther was a teacher’s aide at John Barry School.

She was a devoted member of First Congregational Church of Meriden, which she had attended for 55 years and which Reverend Potter served for 15 years. She had resided in Meriden for 65 years and devoted much of that time to helping others. She was active in the Meriden community, serving as a volunteer for many organizations including the Salvation Army, the Meriden Red Hat Society, the Meriden Senior Center, numerous nursing homes and the hospital.

She received countless certificates for her volunteer work. She will be remembered for her selflessness and devotion to her family and community. Esther is survived by her two daughters, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.

She was predeceased by her loving son, Jose Antonio Sepulveda Jr. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church of Meriden, 62 Colony St, Meriden, CT 06451. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St, Meriden, CT 06450 on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at.
