Donald “Ted” Beaumont, Jr., 88, of Reading passed away Monday, October 1, 2018. He was the loving husband of Joan Janda Beaumont. Joan and Ted were married 67 years.

He was born in Reading on February 3, 1930. Ted graduated from Reading Senior High and then went on to Valley Forge Military Academy. After graduating Valley Forge, he went on to Lehigh University.

Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force where he served as an officer on Guam during the Korean War. After returning from Guam, Ted then joined the family business, Beaumont, Heller & Sperling where he ultimately was co-owner with his late brother, Robert Beaumont. He was also a past president of the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Ted was an avid private airplane pilot. He also was an avid boater, spending many summers on the Chesapeake with his wife on their boat “Bay-B” He is survived by his wife, Joan, his son, Donald T. Beaumont, III, of Florida and daughter, Barbara Fager, wife of David Fager of West Springfield, Massachusetts; grandchildren Peter Fager, U.S. Coast Guard, Christopher Fager of Massachusetts and five great grandchildren all of Massachusetts. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, Saturday, October 6, 2018, 9:00-10:00 am.

Interment with Military Honors will be held in Laureldale Cemetery at 10:30 am. Online condolences may be made at www.
