Obituary for Muriel Urquizu Muriel Elizabeth Urquizu, 77, wife of the late Ralph A. Urquizu for over 50 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday October 13, 2018 at MidState Medical Center. Born in Meriden, CT. on July 17, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Deno and Madeline Caturia.

She was a lifelong Meriden resident, attending Meriden High School. Muriel was employed by Shoprite for more than 40 years, retiring in 2006. She was a huge advocate of BMX in Meriden.

She is survived by her daughter Melinda Urquizu of Bristol; her two sons Robert Urquizu of Wallingford and Richard Urquizu of Meriden; her sister Mary Ellen Brechlin of Meriden and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Urquizu was predeceased by her sisters Margorie St. Hilaire and Magdalene Trifilo and her brother John Deno. A funeral service will be held at the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum, 250 Gypsy Lane, Meriden at 11 a.m. on Friday October 19th.

Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden on Thursday October 18th from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory made be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
