Obituary for Frederick MacMullen Jr. Frederick John MacMullen Jr., 82, husband to Elaine (Costanza) MacMullen for 40 years, passed into the arms of our Lord on September 7, 2018 at Westfield Care and Rehab. Fred was born on June 25, 1936 in Waterbury, Connecticut. Mr. MacMullen retired from A. Fiorillo Co. in Milldale after 46 successful years in the bakery supply industry.

He was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary Church in Meriden and a long-time active member and Officer of the St. Mary Men’s Club. He was known as an avid fan of the N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. Giants as well as a big fan of the UConn Huskies men and women’s teams. After his retirement, he kept active and involved in the community by helping out Goldilock’s Deli delivering lunches to local business for several years.

He was known by many as “Pop”. Fred is survived by his three daughters, Cheryl Lunn and her husband Bryan, Jeanne Martin and Donna MacMullen; his son, Frederick MacMullen III and his wife Carla; his four grandchildren, Michael and Joe Burns, Jordon Bliven and Victoria MacMullen; one great-grandson, Gabriel; two step-daughters, Joy Casamento-Stiers and her husband Turner and Jean Marthins and her husband Kevin; and one step-son, John Casamento and his wife Charlene. Fred was also a grandfather to Brett, Kevin and Adam O’Leary, Stephanie Wilson, and Alyssa and Emily Casamento as well as great-grandfather to Jaxson and Greyson Wilson.

Fred very much loved both his family and his extended family. He was predeceased by his sister, Ethel Linteau, his daughter, Debra MacMullen and a step-daughter, Lee Mary O’Leary. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation in Fred’s name to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901. His wife would like to thank the staff at Westfield for the excellent care given to him.
