Obituary for Crystal Leone Starcher Newhouse Crystal Leone Starcher Newhouse, 96 of St. Albans went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Reedy, Roane County to the late Stephen and Ada Young Starcher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harry Francis Newhouse and her oldest daughter, Donna Frances Newhouse Hamon, just 3 weeks ago.

Leone who lived in Sissonville, WV from 1939 to 1996 was a member of her community church Humphrey’s United Methodist Church. She loved to sew, arrange flowers and cook, especially for her family. When in high school she worked for the Spencer WV newspaper where among other things, she set type.

She and Harry, owned and managed Newhouse Exxon in Sissonville until their retirement in 1980. In 1996 she and Harry moved to St. Albans where she made her home these last 16 years with Donna and Avas. Mom is now reunited with Harry and Donna and other loved ones in her Heavenly home.

Surviving are her son-in-law, Dr. Avas Hamon of St. Albans; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Harry Newhouse and Lynn Good Newhouse of Black Mountain, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Lola Jean Newhouse Morris and Jim Morris of St. Albans. Also surviving are grandson, James Francis Morris; great grandsons, Hunter James and Jordan Matthew Morris; sisters, Arnetta Starcher Sloan and Hope Starcher Brennan; and many nieces and nephews. At Leone’s request, only a graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Floral Hills Gardens of Memories, 6839 Sissonville Drive, Sissonville with Pastor George Webb officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Humphrey’s United Methodist Church, 8342 Sissonville Drive, Sissonville, WV 25320.
