Obituary for Betty McCoy Betty Lou McCoy 89, of Scott Depot, WV, passed away Friday May 4, 2018. She was born to the late William Gordon and Catherine Berlin Stewart South Charleston WV. Betty was a loving housewife, very devoted to her family and a true “Coach’s Wife”.

Married 65 years to the late Coach Leon McCoy, their lives were filled with touchdowns and many blessings. She was a lifetime member of Winfield Baptist Church where she taught Childrens Sunday School for over 50 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cathy Bailey (David) of Scott Depot and Bill Hughes (Linda) of Winfield; grandchildren, Brooke Smolder (Eddie) of Ripley and their children, Braylie and Eddric; Brittany Harper (Dave) of Scott Depot and their children, Betley and Cassidy; Amy Artrip (Brent) of Raleigh NC and their children, Eric and Ian; and John Grass (Kristi) of Raleigh and his children, Tori, Sera, and Jack; and many people who were loved like family.

A Celebration of Mrs. McCoy’s Life will be 7:00pm Monday May 7, 2018 at Winfield Baptist Church, 12902 Winfield Road, Winfield WV 25213 with Pastor David Johns officiating. The family will have a reception following the service. A private family burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.

The family strongly suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Mrs. McCoy’s name to the Building Fund c/o Winfield Baptist Church, 12902 Winfield Road, Winfield WV 25213.
