Obituary for Glenna C. Childers Glenna Carol Coburn Childers, 76, of Scott Depot went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in CAMC Memorial, Charleston after a long illness. Born April 20, 1943, Glenna was one of four daughters born to the late James and Rosalie Coburn of St. Albans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle R. Allen and her great-granddaughter, Addison Michelle Hazlett.
Glenna was a graduate of St. Albans High School and was formerly employed by Parkway Supermarket. On August 11, 1964, she married the love of her life, Delbert R. Childers; together they raised three children. She was an active member of Judson Baptist Church, Winfield.
She will always be remembered for her beautiful quilts she has made for her family. She was a devout Christian wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Delbert R. Childers; son, Stephen R. Childers (Michelle) of Winfield; daughter, Mia D. Huffman (Mark) of St. Albans; her grandchildren, David and Devin Childers of Winfield, Ashley Hazlett (Shannon) of Scott Depot; her great-grandson, Grayson Hazlett; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty Chandler (Eddie) of St. Albans, Jean Kay Gibson (Darwin) of Scott depot, Lisa Johnson of Hurricane.
A service celebrating the life of Glenna Childers will be held at 1pm Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Judson Baptist Church, Winfield with Rev. Bobby Goldsburg and Pastor Sam Gassaway officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
