Obituary for Sheryl Ken Maynard Sheryl Ken Maynard, 77, of Winfield died suddenly at his home Monday, June 25, 2018. He was the son of the late Joe and Mary Bryant Maynard and the dearly loved son-in-law of the late M.C. Byus, Jr. and Alma Call Byus. Ken was also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Maynard; his sister, Iris Miles and an infant son.
Ken is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth Ann Byus Maynard; his daughters, Christie Foy (Rob) of Winfield and Kimberly Joyce (Joe Hatfield) of Letart; granddaughters, Brooke Kenney and Madi Reese; great-granddaughter, Madeline Costinteen who loved and adored their “Poppy”. Nothing compares to the love their Poppy had for “his girls”. Also surviving are his son, Kenneth Maynard (Kim) of South Charleston; his grandson, Jack Joyce, who made his grandpa very proud; his brothers, Allen Maynard (Wanda) of Hurricane and Jerry Maynard of Tennessee several nieces and nephews that he loved as his own children as well as many friends and neighbors that were family to him.
Ken was a simple man, very generous. Always willing to help others and never failing to make you laugh. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane with Rev. William Tanzey officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Hurricane.
