Obituary for Richard Zane Morrison Richard Z. “Jack” Morrison, 90, of St. Albans, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018, after his battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born on March 9, 1928. He was an US Army veteran during post war occupied Germany.

He was a “jack of all trades” and was always lending a helping hand. He was the first one called when someone needed their car fixed or had problems with their plumbing, heating, cooling and many other repairs. He also built the family home in St. Albans.

He was employed during his lifetime at Cape (Canaveral) Kennedy, Florida; Putnam Fabrication Company, Bancroft WV: Tri-State Greyhound Race Track, Cross Lanes, WV. Jack was an innovative man with numerous inventions in his lifetime. He attended various churches regularly over the years and was a very spiritual man.

Jack is survived by his loving children, sons, Richard Z. Morrison, Jr. (Joanna) of Poca, John Morrison (Dawn) of Sod, and Joey Morrison (Anna) of Buffalo; daughters, Vicky Hatfield (Ken) of Cross Lanes, Jana Domico (Tim) of Cottageville; sister, Mary Sutherland of St. Albans; eight grandchildren, Jeremy and Stacey Morrison, John and Amy Morrison, Joey and Misty Morrison, Anthony and Aydin Domico, Jodie Castle; four great-grandchildren, Marissa Morrison, Savannah and Carly Morrison and Riley Morrison, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends. Jack is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patty Marie Morrison; his baby son, Robert Mark Morrison; his parents, J. Wesley and Anna Virginia Morrison; brothers, John (Buster), Bill, Phillip (Wayne) Morrison; sisters, Ginny Bennett, Sarah Dye, Jane Brightwell, and Jewel Dingess; and grandchildren, Les and Shannon Castle. Jack was a very loving man and was always ready to give everyone a big hug and smile.

All of us children were raised in a home where there was never a doubt of how much we were loved. We will miss his hugs, his constant prayers and his unconditional love for us. Our lives have been blessed having such an amazing and caring father.

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the caregivers of Teays Valley Center and Hospice for their exceptional care of our father. Their kindness and support has helped ease our hurt and grief. A special thanks to Robert Childers, (Dad’s roommate at Teays) for “looking out” for our father.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday June 26, 2018 at Bartlett Chapman Funeral Home in St. Albans. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday June 27, 2018 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
