Curt L. Blakely May 31, 1938 – June 5, 2018 Curt L. Blakely, 80, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Sprenger Health Care of Mishawaka, Indiana. Curt was born on May 31, 1938 in Oneonta, Alabama to the late Lester V. Blakely and Nora L. (Duncan) Blakely and lived most of his life in this area, graduating from Washington High School. Curt proudly served our country in the United States Army.

He worked for many years as a machinist with Sibley Machine and Foundry, South Bend. Curt loved fishing and camping, especially at Mississinewa Lake, and also enjoyed working on cars. On July 1, 1958 in Corinth, Mississippi he was united in marriage to Judy A. (Dunlap) Blakely, who survives.

Curt and Judy have celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage. Also surviving is a daughter, Katherine Blakely Kaniewski of South Bend; sons, Doug (Jean) Blakely of Mishawaka and Curt Allen (Patti) Blakely of Vero Beach, FL; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Curt is also survived by his sister, Ruth Phillips of Campbellsville, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Nora Blakely; son, Stephen Blakely; sister, Beatrice Burch; and brothers, Ennis, Travis, Rayburn, Steve, and his twin brother, Carl. A private memorial service for Curt L. Blakely will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Pet Refuge, 4626 Burnett Drive, South Bend, IN 46614.
