Obituary for Cynthia “Cindy” Jackson Cynthia “Cindy” Louise Jackson, age 62, succumbed to her hard-fought battle with cancer and Sunday, July 8, 2018. Cindy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved daughter Beanie and grandcat Jazz. Cindy was born on November 8, 1955, to the late John Thomas Jackson and Marie Elizabeth Graves.

Cindy attended Frankfort High School where she graduated in 1973; she went on to study at Kentucky State University and obtained her B.S. degree in 1978. Cindy was an outstanding member of the girls basketball teams in both high school and college. Upon graduating college Cindy went on to work in the manufacturing industry and devoted most of her career as a team leader/supervisor to Ohi-America (G-Com) where she was employed for 20+ years.

Cindy was both a devoted mother and loving sister who loved her family dearly. Cindy had an infectious smile that accompanied her great sense of humor. She was an avid chess player and had class and style that was out of this world.

She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever one was needed, no matter what it was. Cindy, in fact, was well known by both family and friends alike as “the interior decorator” because she was who everyone turned to and relied on to help decorate their homes. Cindy leaves to cherish her memory one daughter: Lorene (Beanie) Jackson; eight sisters: Wanda Jackson, Blanche Jackson, Anita Booker, Terrie Jackson, Donna Jackson, Alice Jackson, and Melanie Barnett; two brothers Freddie Williams and Thomas Barnett; two aunts: Bernice Combs and Geneva Smith; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Gaines. A memorial service for Cindy will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 100 Clinton Street, Frankfort, with Reverend James Thurman officiating. Flowers and condolences may be offered at First Baptist Church.
