Cynthia L. “Cind” or “Grammy” McKelvey, 66, Duncansville, passed away early Tuesday, July 10, 2018, after a brief illness at UPMC Altoona. She was born October 17, 1951, in Altoona, daughter of the late Janet and Veryl McKelvey. Surviving are a son, Brad J. Walker and wife, Kimberly A., of Martinsburg; three grandsons: Aidan, Connor and Chase Walker; a brother, Jeffrey R. McKelvey and wife, Sue, of Duncansville; a sister, Sue Ann Hovenstine and husband, John; many nieces and nephews; numerous family members, whom she held a special place for in her very giving heart; her little Pug dog, Rooney; and her granddaughter dogs: Bailee and Cali.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gary Lee McKelvey. Cindi graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1969. She held administrative positions for nearly 50 years at many different businesses including, James Industries, Altoona Hospital and Allegheny Rehabilitation.

From 2003-2017, she was employed by Blair Animal Hospital, where her love of animals grew by leaps and bounds. A celebration of Cindi’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, at St. John’s Reformed Church, Hollidaysburg. Her place of burial will be at Alto-Reste Park.

Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
