Dale Alan Smith, 77, of Wilmington, OH, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home. He was born January 24, 1941 in Lima, OH, son of the late Frederick Alan Smith and Martha Alberta Driver Smith. A retired forklift mechanic, he was a US Army Veteran, having served in Germany as an MP.

He also played bass in the band “Brandy” for over 20 years. Survivors include his son, Daniel (Angela) Smith of Park City, KS; Jan (Gary) Sliemers of Perrysburg; his stepmother Janie Chamberlin Smith of Cridersville; grandchildren, Joel (Ruizhi) Smith of Shenzhen, China; Nicholas May, Eligh Smith, and Kristen May of Park City, KS; great-granddaughter, and Dorothy Mae Song of Shenzhen. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles “Chuck” Frederick Smith and Lawrence “Larry” Edwin Smith, and stepfather John Luke.

According to Mr. Smith’s wishes, following cremation he will be interred in the New Burlington Cemetery. No services are scheduled. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington is serving the family.
