Obituary for Dale Fryer Sr. Dale Eugene Fryer, Sr., 67, of Avis, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Jersey Shore Hospital. Dale was born in Jersey Shore on May 19, 1951, the son of the late Dale Earnest and Beverly Signor Fryer. He was 1969 graduate of Jersey Shore High School.

Dale was a Veteran of the U.S. Army National Guards and Army Reserves, serving from 1971 to 1979, where he obtained a certification in Mechanics. On June 17, 1972 at the Avis United Methodist Church, he married the former Dawn Dauberman, whom survives. Dale began his career as a truck driver as a teenager, working for McCormick Dray Lines, Inc. of Muncy, Powers Trucking of Lock Haven and Woolever Brothers Transportation of Montoursville.

He then worked as a mechanic and school bus driver for Susquehanna Transit of Avis until his retirement in 2013. He was a past member of the Avis Fire Company. Dale was a train enthusiast – a passion that began as a young child.

He was also an avid sports and had a special love for the game of baseball – playing in his early years and umpiring Little League and Junior League games in his adult years. Most of all, Dale adored his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Brenda (Steve) Ingraham of Jersey Shore, Beth (Charlie Reeder) Fryer of Mill Hall, Dale Fryer, Jr. of Texas and Cheryl (Jaime) Fryer of Jersey Shore; a brother, Richard (Pat) Fryer of Lock Haven; a sister, Leah Fryer of Avis; his mother-in-law, Shirley Dauberman of Avis; a sister-in-law, Lynn (Zip) Wheeler of Jersey Shore; a brother-in-law, Bill (Sue) Dauberman of Avis; five grandchildren, Aaron (Larissa) Chaplain, Sabrina Chaplain, Amber (Jut) Haag, Ashley Ingraham and Arizona Fryer; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Green; three brother-in-laws, Don Green, Ronnie (Jeanne) Dauberman and Joe Garvey; a sister-in-law, Judy (Glenn) Keen; and his father-in-law, Donald Dauberman. A Funeral Service will be held on Thrusday, May 31, 2018 at 12 noon at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 with Pastor Joe Hopkins officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 10a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Avis United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
