Obituary for Bernice Kerstetter (Slegle) Bernice “Eileen” Kerstetter, 90, of 3491 Narrows Road, Loganton, passed away at Susque View Home on Friday, June 1, 2018. Born April 8, 1928 in Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Linnie Slegle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel Kerstetter, Sr., with whom she enjoyed 65 years of marriage.
Eileen was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, baking and reading, but especially enjoyed the time she spent with family. She enjoyed the many visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always made all visitors feel welcome.
She also enjoyed remembering family and friends with cards, never missing a birthday or anniversary. Eileen was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Tylersville. She was a past member of the Tylersville Community Club and a 4-H Leader.
Surviving are five children: Daniel, Jr. of Tylersville, Jean (Dan) Courter of Clintondale, Dennis (Arlene) of Loganton, Larry (Belva) of Tylersville, and Diane (Ron) Karstetter of Loganton; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her much-loved sister, Anna Mae Geyer. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eileen’s name may be made to either St. John’s United Church of Christ, 3782 Narrows Rd. , Loganton, Pa 17747 or the Loganton Community Volunteer Fire Company, 24 Anthony St., Loganton, Pa 17747. Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
