Obituary for Kenneth Nihart Kenneth Ardell Nihart, 83, of 46 Elementary Ln. , Woolrich, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing, Lock Haven. Born July 30, 1934 in Castanea, he was the son to the late Ralph and Ada Blush Nihart.
Ken proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and then in the Marine Corps Reserve. On August 14, 1953 he married the former Laurice D. Thorson who preceded him in death on October 13, 2017. Ken was employed as a Supervisor at Hammermil Paper Co. and then International Paper for 37 years.
He enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, Scratch Off Lottery Tickets and genealogy. He especially cherished family gatherings. Surviving are four children: Deborah S. (Jesse) Askins of Mill Hall, Kenneth A. (Gretchen) Nihart of Beech Creek, Pam C. (Terry) Younkin of Mill Hall, and Denise A. (James) Paras of Lock Haven; two brothers, David (Elaine) and Alfred (Geri) Nihart, both of Fl.
; a sister, Patricia (Jack) Wetzel of Lock Haven; a sister-in-law, Jean Nihart of Lock Haven; nine grandchildren: Matthew, Logan, Heath, Benjamin, Jennifer, Troy, Cory, Kyrstie and Chelsea; fifteen great grandchildren with one on the way; and special caregivers, Misty and Elizabeth. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Herold Nihart, and sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Alfred Weaver. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to either the Clinton County Veterans Administration or the Clinton County S.P.C.A. Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745.
