Obituary for Manuel Andrus Manuel L. Andrus, 93, of Lock Haven passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born on March 25, 1925 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Manuel B. and Ada I. Winters Andrus. Manuel graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1943.

He proudly served in the United States Army as an Army Engineer during WWII. On April 16, 1947 Manuel married the love of his life, the former Rosemary Curcio, with whom he celebrated 71 years of marriage. In June of 1947 he joined the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local Union 520, retiring in 1988.

Manuel was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Beech Creek American Legion and an avid Penn State fan. Manuel enjoyed spending time at the river on his pontoon boat, fishing and snowmobiling.

He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time at his summer home in Crossforks with family and friends. He was a talented woodworker and a hard worker who enjoyed helping friends, neighbors and family complete house projects- whether it be laying carpet, plumbing or electrical work. In addition to his wife, Rosemary Andrus of Lock Haven, he is survived by three children: Brenda L. (Jack) Herr of Beech Creek, Carol L. (Richard) George of Port Charlotte, Florida and Manny L. (Deborah Reese) Andrus of Lock Haven; two siblings, Richard Andrus of Lock Haven and Mary Lou Smith of Mill Hall; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Betty Diehl, Robert Andrus and Eleanor Higgins. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at Rest Haven Memorial Park with Rev. Roger Yoder officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Manuel’s name may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Mary Kay Englert, 559 Island Rd. , Lock Haven, Pa 17745. Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
