M. with the visitation beginning at 9:00 A. M. at St. John B. C. in Ville Platte, LA. Burial will be at 11:00 A. M. on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Central LA Veteran’s Cemetery in Leesville, LA. Rev.
Fredrick Lafleur will officiate the funeral service. Mr. Woodall departed his earthly adobe for his heavenly home on January 13, 2019 at Kingwood Medical Centwer in Houston, TX. Pastor Damon Keith Woodall, Sr., was born to Alfred D. Woodall, Jr. and the late Shirley Mays on July 28, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York.
He confessed the Lord at an early age and was baptized by the late Reverend James R. Tate, at Unity Temple Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York. He continued at Unity Temple Baptist Church Under the leadership of Reverend Walter L. DeLoach in Brooklyn, New York where he served faithfully until 1975. In 1983, he became a member of The Church at Ville Platte under the leadership of Apostle Perry Dangerfield, Jr. and First Lady Vera Dangerfield.
There he served faithfully as an associate pastor for 15 years. He was the founder of The Abundant Word Fellowship Center in Ville Platte, LA. In 2011, because of his illness, he moved to Houston, Texas.
In 2014, he became a member of The New Light Church in Houston, Texas under the leadership of Apostle I. V. Hilliard, Pastor Bridgette Hilliard, and Senior Pastor Dr. Irishea Hilliard. He continued there as a faithful member until his death. He was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Emily Grace Woodall on August 23, 1980.
They were married 38 wonderful years. He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife Mrs. Emily Grace Woodall and eight children: Marva A. (Charles) Bradley of Jennings, LA; Lisa N. Thomas of Houston, Texas; Wahid Shaka Crosby of South Carolina; Kishia Nicole Woodall (Thomas)Hunter of Gotham, Alabama; Kelly Thomas of Houston, Texas; Dametria (Marcus) Eagleton of Humble, Texas; Damon K. (Ashley) Woodall, Jr. of Lafayette, LA. ; and Sherrie Joseph of Chicago, Illinois.
Other family members include: His father, Alfred D. Woodall, Sr. of Hempstead, New York. Four brothers: Steven (Brenda) Coleman of McDonough, Georgia; Alfred D. (Yolanda) Woodall, III, of Hempstead, New York; Brian Woodall of Atlanta, Georgia; and Craig (Deborah) Woodall, of Amityville, New York. Three sisters: Donna Woodall of Prince George County, Maryland; Alexis Tiffane (Robert) Cook of Valerica, Georgia; and Deborah Pierre of Brooklyn, New York.
Two aunts: Rose Mae DeLoach of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Ella Woodall of Brooklyn, New York. He leaves his legacy of love to 31 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Mays, his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Alfred D. (Rose) Woodall, Sr. One brother: Alfred K. Coleman.
