BERLIN – Dan E. Mast, 90, a long-time resident of Mt. Hope, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home. He was born September 3, 1928 in Holmes County, Ohio to Eli S. and Elizabeth J. (Yoder) Mast.

He married Donna Giauque February 1, 1957 in Millersburg, Ohio. Dan retired from Berlin Wood Products. He had previously operated Mast Sinclair in Berlin and had worked for Jay Pallet All, Mullet Coal and Holmes Limestone.

Following retirement, he was self employed for 20 years as Mast Ad Specialties and was a faithful volunteer for the Red Cross Blood program. He was a member of St. John’s Church of Millersburg. Surviving are sons Michael (Amy) Mast of Canton, Tim Mast of Dalton and Todd (Darlene) Mast of Mansfield; grandchildren Rachel, Michael (Aubree), Andrea, Tamara and Sumer Mast; great-grandchildren Vanessa, Greyson and Emery; sisters Jemima (Jacob) Yoder, Anna Miller, Amanda (Roman) Miller and Mary Ann (Dan) Kline.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Donna (Giauque) Mast and sisters Ella Miller and Bena Raber. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Pomerene Hospital and Walnut Hills Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Church of Millersburg, with the Rev.

O. Kenneth Walther officiating. Burial will be in Fryburg Cemetery in Holmes County. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg, or one hour prior to the services at the church.
