George Jay Weinroth, age 81, of Nashville, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018. There are no Services scheduled at this time. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.

alexanderfhinc.com. Jay was born December 18, 1936. He was a retired professor at Kent State University.

Jay was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Wooster and was a member of its choir. With his wonderful bass voice he was active in choral groups and choirs for many years. Jay was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, even spending the afternoon of his wedding day listening to a game with the bride.

He loved music, cried at sad movies, and enjoyed reading aloud with his wife. Jay respected nature, marking its changes through each year. Moving to beautiful Holmes County was a special blessing in his life.

He had a keen sense of humor, a penchant for having fun, and he loved being with children, especially his grandchildren from both families. He is survived by his wife, Lucia Weinroth; 2 sons by his first marriage, Stephen (Yukiko) Weinroth and Jonathan Weinroth; step-children, Alice Richmond, Marion Richmond Haygood, and Stephen Richmond; 2 grandchildren, Klaire and Kent; 5 step-grandchildren, Hunter, Hannah and Matthew Haygood, and Jakob and Luisa Richmond; and a sister, Myra Friedman.
