Obituary for Dan Harold Stanley DAN HAROLD STANLEY 1940—-2018 Dan (Danny) Harold Stanley of Clintwood, VA passed from this life on Friday, July 20th, 2018 at Bristol Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, TN. after a long battle with heart disease. Dan was born August 18th, 1940.

His parents were Chester Alton Stanley and Delphia Taylor Stanley, both of Dickenson County, VA. Dan attended Skeetrock Elementary School and Clintwood High School until he joined and served in the United States Air Force in the early sixties. After his time in the military, he married Gloria Lee Walker of Madison, WI.

They had two children, Barry Lee Stanley and Kimberly Gwen Stanley. Dan worked as a coal miner for Clinchfield Coal Company and Beth-Elkhorn Coal Company for a total of 33 years. Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria, his daughter, Kimberly, his parents, Chester Stanley, Delphia Triplett, his stepfather, Estel Triplett and his brother, David Triplett.

He is survived by his son, Barry Lee Stanley, grandchildren; Ashley Crabtree, Danny Stanley, Waylon Stanley, Delrena Mckinney, and Brandy Foxx, his sister, Linda Carol Stanley, and several great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Dan accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior June 11, 2018 for which we rejoice with praise and thanksgiving! Before Dan’s health failed, he was an avid camper, fisherman, gardener and lawn keeper.

He enjoyed family gatherings, cookouts, and birthday celebrations (especially his own! ). He had a wonderful and mischievious sense of of humor which we all enjoyed.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him! Funeral Services will be held at: Mullins Funeral Home Chapel Visitation Tues. Evening @ 6:00 PM Service @ 7:00 PM Wednesday @ 1:00 PM with Burial following in the Triplett-Stanley Cemetery Triplett Lane Clintwood, VA Officiating: Pastor Joe Hutchinson Pastor Lynn Vanover at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel Pallbearers will be Hunter Crabtree, Waylon Stanley, Randall Powers, Dicky Mooney, Dustin Stanley, Allen Taylor, and Rex Thompson.
