Obituary for Robert C “Robbie” Hay Robert C. “Robbie” Hay, age 58, passed away peacefully at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL on Monday July 16, 2018 after an extended illness. He was born June 1, 1960 in Highland Park, Michigan and was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, VA. He was the beloved husband of 36 years to his wife, Tammy, and loving father to his children, Christina (Frank) Ison of Blountville, TN, Nathaniel (Katy) Hay of Bluff City, TN, and Brittany (Daniel) McCowan of Bluff City, TN.
The pride and joy of his life were his 3 grandchildren Kaylee Jo, Carter, and Lennox. Robbie was preceded in death by his father Clayton Hay and his sister, Nancy(Paul) Sluss. Survivors Include: His Mother: Lillian Price Hay Three Sisters: Cheryl Bihl, Brenda Reynolds and husband, Pat, and Patty Mullins and husband, Jack One Brother: Russell Hay and wife, Jody Father in Law: Darrell Mullins Two Brothers in Law: Scotty Mullins and wife, Kristi and Paul Sluss Sister in Law: April Osborne and husband, Mike A host of nieces and nephews Robbie was a member of Dyers Chapel FWB Church where he pastored many years.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with services to follow at 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel, Clintwood, Virginia on Monday July 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Jonah Ray Shoope, Mike Stidham, Darrell Milgrim, and Wayne Keith officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. at the Glenwood Cemetery, 839 Bluff City Highway, Bristol, TN 37620. Pallbearers will be Rickey Fletcher, Greg Mullins, Jimmy Mullins, Dan Addington, Derek Ratliff (Rat), Sammie Zerkle, Frank Ison, and Daniel (Boomer ) McCowan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Carson Vanover, Sammy Adkins, Harold Mullins, Eddie Rose, Donnie Hamilton, Jack Mullins, Scotty Mullins, Mike Osborne, Russell Hay, and Nathaniel Hay. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Carson and Linda Vanover, Katie Camp, and family, Meredith Horton, and Danika Gilley. Many thanks for exceptional medical care to all the staff in Spain-Wallace 6 South and HTICU at UAB and Dr. Charles Hoopes and Lung Transplant Team and staff of Kirklin Clinic.
