Daniel E. Twiford, 71, of 11893 Pettis Road, Meadville, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018, at Meadville Medical Center. Daniel was born in Norfolk, VA on February 22, 1947, a son of the late Joseph and Harriet L. (Dahl) Twiford. On December 17, 1992 Daniel married Margaret E. Cunningham Edley; she survives.

He was affiliated with Twelve Apostles Lutheran Church, Saegertown. Dan had been employed by the former Avtex Fibers in the Spinning and Processing Departments… Read More » until April of 1985. Following the closing of the plant, Dan worked for Cresice Systems of Cambridge Springs as a Safety Consultant to local tool shops, for several years.

Dan was a 1965 graduate of Saegertown High School. He was proud to be a founding member of the former Meadville Club and took great pride in being a member of the ACTWU Union. A member of the Black Ash Sportsman Club, he enjoyed shooting and was a former member of the NRA.

He had a love for photography, especially wildlife photography. He enjoyed feeding the birds and deer. His greatest enjoyment came from being with his family.

In addition to his wife, Margaret, Daniel is survived by two children Amber L. Ryder (Craig) of Austin TX, John D. Twiford (Tammy) of Saegertown, three step-sons Don Erdley (Beth) of Meadville, Doug Erdley (Jodi) Fairbanks, AK, Michael Erdley (Jennifer) SanAntonio, TX, 11 grandchildren Erin (Christian), Eric (Katie), Natalie, Aidan, Gentry, Anna, Maggie, Melanie, Hillary, D.J., Dani, a great grandchild Easton Jo, two sisters Patricia Ellis (Lindell) of IL, Janet Twiford of NC, two brothers Joseph Twiford (Linda J.) of NC, Roy Twiford (Peggy) of Saegertown, his aunt Hazel Dahl of Saegertown, nieces and nephews. Services will be private and held at the convenience of family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assoc.
