Obituary for Darrell “Buck” A Daugherty Darrell “Buck” Daugherty, 76, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Daviess County on December 28, 1941 to the late Earl Daugherty and Lillian Susan Bowlds Daugherty. Darrell was employed by International Harvester – Case New Holland as a repairman for 27 years.
He was a member of the Masons, UAW 1304, and Precious Blood Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR, and loved his dog Missy. Along with his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy Marie, an infant brother Earl Wayne, an infant sister Theresa, his brother Ronald, his nephew Joey McKay, and his niece Cynthia McKay.
Darrell is survived by his children Mary (Shawn) Potts, Delores (Kenny) Bickett, Tammy (Roger) Knapp, and Darrell Daugherty, Jr.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Nancy D. Hendricks, Dorothy (Bob) Whitmer, Jerry (Dawn) Daugherty, Lee “Pixie” Stemmermann, Gary (Debbie) Daugherty, Sue Ann Daugherty, Rita Roberson (LaWanna), Dennis (Mary) Daugherty, Mike Daugherty, David (Eva) Daugherty, and Jeff Daugherty (Andy). Services will be 10:00 am Saturday at Precious Blood Catholic Church, with Father Suneesh Matthew officiating.
Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, June 8, 2018, and from 8:30 am to 9:30 am Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Prayers will be said 5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
