Savitaben “Ba” Haribhai Desai, of Owensboro, KY passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018, surrounded by family at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest Nursing Home. Savitaben was born on February 26, 1932 to the late Chhotubhai and Maniben Desai in Desra, Gujarat, India. She lived a very full life across three continents.

Savitaben became known as the grandmother of Owensboro. She made friends wherever she went. Savitaben was preceded in death by her husband, Haribhai Desai; her brother, Sumanbhai Desai; her sister, Madhuben Desai; and her son, Bhaskar Desai.

Savitaben is survived by her sister, Lataben (late Maganbhai) Desai, her brother, Bipinbhai (Pratimaben) Desai, her sister, Naynaben Desai, and her brother, Rohitbhai (Madhuben) Desai. She is also survived by her son, Bharat (Nirmala) Desai, of Lexington, KY, daughter-in-law, Minaxi Desai, of Owensboro, KY, daughter, Usha (Kirti) Naik, of Bean Station, TN, and son, Nilesh (Hina) Desai, of Sugar Land, TX, as well as her grandchildren, Hiren (Hima) Desai, Pareen (Krunal) Dave, Aimee (James) Desai, Sameep Naik, Meghan Desai, and Ravi Desai, and great-grandchildren, Roisin, Maeve, and Arya Kehoe, Ishan Desai, and Isaac Dave. The family would like to thank the staff of Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest Nursing Home, as well as all friends, for the love and care they showed Ba in her lifetime.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11am on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro.
