Amy Lynn Kohl Kempton, 41, of Owensboro, died on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She was born on December 23, 1976 in Belleville, Illinois to John Allan Kohl and Brenda Jean Wilemon Kohl. She was employed as a mortgage loan officer for U.S. Bank Home Mortgage.

Amy attended Matthew’s Table Church and was an advocate for PTSD and an advocate against child slavery. She was also a published author for “The Mighty” blog. Amy loved God and was a great mother who lived her life for her kids.

Survivors include her husband, B.J. Kempton; two daughters, Tessa Kempton and Abbie Kempton, both at home; her beloved dog, Ziggy; her parents, John and Jeannie Kohl of East Carondelet, Illinois; a brother, Matt Kohl (Melissa) of Dupo, IL; a sister, Kelly Kohl of Owensboro; a dear aunt, Linda Baysinger of Mt. Vernon, IL; an aunt and uncle, Mark and Kim Wilemon; maternal grandparents, Rev. James and Betty Wilemon of Cahokia, IL; mother and father-in-law, Paul and Marcia Kempton of Lebanon, TN; two brother-in-laws, David Kempton (Katie) of Lebanon, TN and Paul Kempton, III of Warner Robins, GA; one sister-in-law, Amy McElroy (Alex) of Cape Girardeau, MO; several beloved nieces and nephews and so many precious friends.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 in the Chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory officiated by Rev. Tim Russ and Rev. David Carpenter.

Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Friends of Sinners, 324 Clay Street, Owensboro, KY 42303.
