Gilbert Howard “Gil” Jenkins, 77, of Shepherdsville, KY, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 29, 1940 in Louisville, KY to the late Gilbert Lee Jenkins and Julia Welch Jenkins. He worked as a carpenter.

Gil was a man of God that loved his family and his passions were woodworking, animals and music. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Ann Martin Jenkins; six children, Michael Jenkins, Debra Sarafin, Craig Duncan, Kimberly Holsclaw, Keith Jenkins and Andria Hofmann; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marilyn Smith, Linda Lambdin and Janet Young. A memorial service will be held at 7:30p.m. (EST) on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 1403 S. Park Road, Fairdale, KY.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the donor’s favorite charity.
