Obituary for Monica “May May” Collins Monica “May May” Collins, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, peacefully entered into the arms of the angels Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born April 22, 1961, in Daviess County to Mary Emily Hawkins and the late J.D. Hawkins. She was employed as a cake decorator and was a member of the Pentecostal faith.

May May enjoyed making crafts and watching her boys race, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Hawkins. She also is survived by her husband of 10 years, John T. Collins; three sons, Jeremy (Jami) Adkisson of Calhoun and Shane (Kandace) Adkisson and Cody Adkisson, both of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Brooklyn, Taylor, Harli, J.J., Kale, Kelsey and Skylar Adkisson; three brothers, Richard (Liz) Hawkins and Jeff Hawkins, both of Owensboro, and Mark (Craig) Hawkins of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ada (Mike) Calloway of Owensboro and Gail Koger of Philpot; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Pastor Larry Bidwell is officiating. Burial follows in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Monica “May May” Collins Memorial Fund, c/o Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, 519 Locust St., Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
