David’s Obituary David Edmond Drury, 87, husband of 68 years to Louise Jamerson Drury, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born March 27, 1931 in Anderson County, KY, David was the son of the late Haskell and Margie Taylor Drury. Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his step mother, Juanita Leathers Drury; five siblings, Gary Taylor, James Drury, Garret Drury, Verna Drury, and Mildred Williams, and a step brother James Vaught.

David served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired as a store manager for The A&P Company in Frankfort, Versailles and Lexington and following retirement owned and operated Anderson Produce. A member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church, David served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for many years.

Some of his enjoyments included raising chickens and watching U.K. sports and the Cincinnati Reds. Including his wife, David is survived by his daughter, Nancy Jackson and her husband Rick of Frankfort; his grandson, David Sawyer of Frankfort; three granddaughters, Tara Sullivan of Danville, Shannon (Jay) Dutta and Rachael (Shannon) Kennedy, both of Frankfort; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother, Windell (Fran) Drury of Lancaster. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb.

22nd beginning at 11:00 AM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lauren Rudolph, Danny Hanks, Tom Smith, Scott Brown, and Robert Shearer. The deacons of Sand Spring Baptist Church will serve as honorary bearers. Memorials are suggested to the Sand Spring Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 166, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
