James Russell Penn, Jr., 71, of Lawrenceburg, widower of Velma Stinnett Penn, died Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. He was born in Frankfort, KY to the late James Russell and Ella Pence Penn. He spent his days as a carpenter and a member at Fellowship Baptist Church.

He is survived by two children, Rhonda Downing and James K. Penn, both of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Darlene Riley, Lawrenceburg, Joshua Matthew Downs, Orlando, Jason Patrick Downs, of Lawrenceburg and Scarlett Carol Hubbard, of Lawrenceburg; 5 great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Clark and Piper Riley, Annalee and Dixie Downs, all of Lawrenceburg; and two sisters. Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Donald Penn. Cremation was chosen.

Gash Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
