David H. Lounder, born May 16, 1941, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years, Margaret Lounder, his father, Henry David Lounder, his mother, Marion Kaine, all of his grandparents, and two very special friends, Sanford Scott and Neil Webb. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Gladys Lounder; two step-children, Damian Pugh and Benjamin Pugh of Essie, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Peyton Pugh, Morgan Pugh, Bryce Pugh, and Preston Pugh, all of Essie, Kentucky; his mother-in-law, Carrie Kilburn; two nephews, Eric Lounder of New Brunswick, Canada, and Kevin Hartin of Alberta, Canada; two nieces, Tara Wendell of Alberta, Canada, and Lisa Southerland and family of New Brunswick, Canada; two special friends, Gloria Scott and Doreen Webb.

David retired from 35 years of service at Amtrax Railroad. He also retired with 23 years of service to the Army Reserves. He also served four years in the Navy.

David did many things in his lifetime, but the best thing he ever did was give his heart to the Lord. There will be a small memorial service on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 1:00pm at Grace Freewill Baptist Church, 2110 Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37604, with Rev. Curtis Hurt officiating.
