Army Ranger Sergeant David Thomas White, Sr., 53, of Cusseta, GA passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA. David was assigned to Alpha Company 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, and stationed at Ft. Benning, GA from 1987 – 1995.

His celebration of life service will be held 11:00 am EDT Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City, AL. Interment with military honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home. David was born October 19, 1964 in Melrose Park, IL, son of the late Ralph Thomas White and Patricia Lynn Canham White. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for over 11 years.

His Army career began in the South Carolina National Guard as a Tanker. He later enlisted in the active duty Army and volunteered for Ranger Indoctrination Program (R.I.P.) while in Airborne School. After graduation R.I.P., he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

He graduated Ranger School Class 2/89, then he was deployed in support of Operation Just Cause. His next assignment was with 2/18 Company, Ft. Benning, GA, where he deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield.

His final assignment was with 4th Ranger Training Brigade as Ranger Cadre. During his assignment he achieved his Master Jump Wings with Combat Jump Star. After leaving active duty, he continued to remain engaged with the Ranger Community.

He continued to work for many years in the local construction community. David is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Lisa Milagros White of Cusseta, GA; their daughter, Andrea Marie White of Cusseta, GA; their son, David Thomas White, Jr. of Ft. Mitchell, AL; his beloved dog, Riley White; his Aunt, Donna Keller of MO; mother-in-law, Vicky Hacking of Phenix City, AL; father-in-law Jose Rubiani of Columbus, GA; brothers-in-law; Jose Rubiani, Jr., Tye Hacking, Chip Hacking and Chad Shores, all of Phenix City, AL; many extended family members, friends and Ranger Brothers.

He was exceedingly proud of his military service, but he was also a man who loved his family above all and he lived his life doing the best that he could for them. There are no words that can describe how much he is loved and will be missed. Online condolences may be made at www.
