Obituary for David Wayne Norman David Wayne Norman, age 78, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Country Living Retirement Home in North Liberty, Iowa. Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Kwang Song officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Wednesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Wednesday evening.

Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church or Iowa City Hospice. Online condolences may be sent for David’s family through the web at www.

jonesfh.com. David was born November 26, 1939, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Wayne and Alice (Wilson) Norman. He attended Lexington Country School and graduated from West Chester High School in 1958.

He attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. David was united in marriage to Karen Crawford on September 1, 1962, at the United Methodist Church in Washington. David was a farmer near Wellman, Iowa.

He later owned a John Deere Implement Dealership in Montezuma, Iowa, and owned a photography studio. He later worked for the University of Iowa. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington.

David enjoyed riding and raising Quarter Horses. Later in life he had draft horses which he drove in parades, for hayrides, weddings, and many church events. He enjoyed woodworking.

He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Karen Norman of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Kristine (Pat) Burns of Oxford, Iowa; son, Kyle (Kim) Norman of Wellman, Iowa; son, Houston (Jennifer) Norman of Oskaloosa, Iowa; son, Dallas (Susi) Norman of Kalona, Iowa; daughter, Trudy (Kerry) Neff of Des Moines, Iowa; son, Wayne (Amy) Norman of Iowa City, Iowa; 11 grandchildren: Kaitlin Kaalberg; Austin and Emilee Norman; Paige and Hope Norman; Sophia and Lola Norman; Jackson, Chloe and Nora Neff; Sage Norman; and one great grandson, Tate Tappan. He is also survived by one niece, Pam Green and one nephew Steve (Sue) Norman.
