David G. Tanner Sr., 62 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. David was born on September 12, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri; the son of the late William A. Tanner and Joy K. (Heffner) French. David was in maintenance at Herman Oak in St. Louis and in his free time he enjoyed his days of being outside camping and fishing.

David never missed an opportunity to play horseshoes or a good game of pool, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family. David is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Toni (Turner) Tanner, whom he married on October 6, 1986; his son, David G. Tanner Jr. of Granite City, IL; grandson, Andrew David Tanner of Granite City, IL; sister, Janet Thorton of Granite City, IL; brothers, Bill (Donna) Tanner of Granite City, IL, Ronald (Kim) Tanner of Granite City, IL. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Fred H. Tanner.

In celebration of David’s life, graveside services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Rock Hill Cemetery in Puxico, MO.
