Martin J. “Marty” Cunningham, 48 of Troy, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at St. Louis University Hospital. Marty was born on April 19, 1970 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He was a Slot Supervisor at the Casino Queen.

Marty was known for being a WW II history buff and was a master builder of Lego’s. Marty’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together. Marty is survived by and will be missed by his daughter; Bree Cunningham of Troy, Illinois; his parents, Hugh and Jean (Linkey) Cunningham of Troy, Illinois; brothers, Matthew Cunningham of Troy, Illinois, Dan (Kathy) Cunningham of Troy, Illinois, Mark (Erin) Cunningham of Highland, Illinois, Hugh (Penny) Cunningham of St. Jacob, Illinois; Bree’s mom, Danika Hilkey of Collinsville, Illinois and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other close family members and friends.

Marty was preceded in death by his daughter, Zoe Cunningham. A private memorial gathering will be held at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon with a burial to follow at Friedens Cemetery in Troy, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to a fund for his daughter Bree’s education.
