Delores Sparks Smith October 5, 1930 ~ December 29, 2018 Delores Sparks Smith, 88, passed away at her home Saturday, December 29, 2018. She was born October 5, 1930, in Carey, Idaho, to Hyrum Stanley Sparks and Elizabeth Maria Bischoff Sparks. She grew up in Carey.

On October 8, 1948, Delores married her high school sweetheart, E. Lavar Smith, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They made their first home in Carey and moved to Roy in 1955. She was the loving mother of Debbie (Robert) Steed, Denise (Mike) Martinez, Layton Smith, and Laird (Carolyn) Smith, and the loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed teaching lessons in her DUP group for many years and doing family history. She loved her friends and neighbors, and was known for her countless acts of service.

As a family, we will be forever grateful for the love and watchful eyes of her dear neighbors and for all of their help to her throughout the years. She is preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Denise; her parents, sister Ruby, brothers Louie and Michael; and grandson Braiden. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at the Cedar Crest Ward Chapel, 3845 South 2000 West, Roy, Utah.

The family will meet with friends on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Ward Relief Society room. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
