Diane Lee (Tisseker) Holmquist, 76, died on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at her home. She was the daughter of the late George and Hazel Tisseker. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Lisa, granddaughter Amber and great-granddaughter Lilly, her sister, Mary Nortrup, and brothers: George, Donald, and Robert Tisseker.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Rolf Holmquist and her two sons, Rolf Holmquist II and wife, Lori, of Warner Robins, GA, and Brian Holmquist and wife, Jeanne, of Clearwater, FL; 5 grandchildren: Brittany Mederos of Mesa, AZ, Brandon Holmquist and wife, Samantha, of Oklahoma City, OK, Heather Holmquist of Las Vegas, NV, and Megan Holmquist of Las Vegas, NV; great-granddaughter: Lorelai Mederos of Mesa, AZ; 5 Nephews and Nieces: John and Carol Nortrup, of West Keensburg, NJ, Bobby Nortrup, of Red Bank, NJ, and Charlie and Georgia Adoian, of West Warwick, RI. Diane was born on June 30, 1942, in Morristown, NJ, and graduated from Hanover Park High School, NJ. She graduated from Morris Town Cosmetology, loved the arts, later was involved with the Burnsville quilt guild, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burnsville.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a person of faith whose quiet spirit and love for others spoke volumes. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Diane at the First Presbyterian Church of Burnsville, on Thursday, 31 January at 2:00 pm, with a reception to follow the service. Pastor Steve Elderbrock will officiate.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Diane Lee Holmquist’s life. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Hospice of Yancey, 856 Georges Fork Rd, Burnsville, NC, 28714.
