Obituary for Dica Bea Blackburn Dica Bea Carr Blackburn, of Plymouth, IN, was born 81 years ago in SeeRee, KY, the daughter of the late Edgar Pierce Carr and Sarah Ada Docia Hudson. She passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Bea was a memorable person and a very caring and loving woman.

She and her husband of 61 years both enjoyed NASCAR, loved playing euchre and enjoyed camping and fishing with family. She was very involved with Indiana Civil Defense through REACT and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Bea had worked at Albet Givens in East Chicago for a time, but she truly loved and had a passion for working in genealogy.

She built an extensive library of family data over many years of research and was quite an expert. Bea is survived by her son, Jeffery Lyle Blackburn (fiancé, Gladys Blackburn and family); grandchildren, Christopher Loomis, Ericka Pass, Kerri Lopez and Hailee Sutherlin; great-grandchildren, Christian Loomis, Justus Loomis, Jada Pass, Keira Pass, Anjelica Garcia, Kianna Piner, Adrian Piner; great-great-grandchildren, Jaxsyn Sutherlin and Harley Sutherlin; eight step-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her husband, William Lyle Blackburn; daughter, Belinda Sue Blackburn Guthrie; sisters, Sadie Ruth Carr Moore, Arnolinia Carr Moore Carmen, Ica Ada Carr Clark; brothers, Raymond Carr, James Carr, George Carr and Iva Edgar Carr.

Services will be at 1:00p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00a.m. – 1:00p.m. prior to the service.
