Obituary of Dominic Biondi Dominic Louis Biondi of Wayne, NJ and formerly of Port Jervis, NY died Sunday, October 7th, 2018 at Brandywine Senior Living in Pennington, NJ. He was 90. He was born November 26, 1927 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Vincenzo James Biondi, Sr. and the late Lucy Peluso Biondi.
Dominic proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines Corps and was a member of the American Legion in Wayne, NJ. He married Patricia M. Hinkley 66 years ago on June 8, 1952 in St. Mary’s R.C. Church Port Jervis. He was a member of Holy Cross RC Church in Wayne, NJ where he also served as an Usher.
He was a member of the Elk’s and the Golden Age Circle of Wayne, NJ. Dominic earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Syracuse University. He worked for TRW based out of Redondo Beach, California.
Dominic was a hardworking, caring, and religious man but was family-oriented over anything else. Dominic’s hobbies included spending time outdoors including planting tomatoes in his bountiful garden and spending time on the local green, where Dominic was an avid golfer. He was a fan of his beloved New York Yankees and sports of his alma mater, Syracuse University.
Dominic also treasured his Italian roots where he and his wife cooked Italian meals for the holidays. Dominic will always be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother and uncle. His lessons and values will always be remembered by those who he touched.
Surviving are: Wife, Patricia Biondi at Brandywine Senior Living, Pennington, NJ 3 Daughters: Karen Biondi-Smith and her husband David of Cape May, NJ; Donna Valerio and her husband Marty of Mercerville, NJ and CIndy Minogue and her husband Stephen of Mercerville, NJ 4 Grandchildren: Martin Valerio and his wife Danielle; Matthew Valerio; Kelly Minogue and her fiance’ Casey McCurdy and Patrick Minogue. 1 Great Grandson: Dominic Valerio 1 Nephew: John Fox & his wife Paula 2 Nieces: Geraldine Kowal & her husband Richard and Nancy McNeece & her husband Brian 2 Great Nephews: Richard Kowal & his wife Jennifer, Chad Kowal & his wife Mary 1 Great Niece: Michelle Fox Also several nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews & great great nieces and great great nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James Biondi and his wife Shirley, his sister, Louise Fox and her husband John and his sister Anna Osowick and her husband John.
Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc. 100 East Main Street Port Jervis, NY on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 with a 9:15am prayer at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 307 Ave. F., Matamoras, PA with Rev.
Joseph Manarchuck officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross R.C. Church, 630 Valley Rd.
