Obituary for Donald ‘Buddy’ Eugene Nesbitt FULLERTON—Donald ‘Buddy’ Eugene Nesbitt, 89, of Fullerton, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Fullerton Care and Rehabilitation Center in Fullerton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton. Pastor Pete Jenks will officiate.

Burial will follow at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 15th at the funeral home. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton is serving the family.

Donald was born October 2, 1928 to Merle ‘Pop’ E. and Dolly Mae (Mason) Nesbitt at rural Merrick County near Central City. He attended several country schools for grade school. He graduated from Fullerton High School in 1945.

He then attended Doane College for a year before returning to Fullerton to work at First National Bank of Fullerton in 1947. He joined the Army National Guard from 1948 to 1951. While working at First National Bank of Fullerton, he started as a cashier and retired in 1989 as a Vice President.

He also worked for the State of Nebraska Roads Department as a flag man for ten years. He volunteered within the community including Fullerton Volunteer Fire Department (1953-1973) and he refereed basketball games and was part of the chain gang at Fullerton football games. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Fullerton Chamber of Commerce, American Red Cross, Pawnee Hills Golf Course, and United Methodist Church.

He loved golfing, bowling, and baseball. He also spent a lot of time making endless memories with his granddaughter, Tracy. He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia (Jack) Weller of Pearce, AZ, Deborah (Bruce) Kingston of Pleasanton, NE, and Drenda (Kevin) Yeager of Linden, IA; special friend of 18+ years, Donna Dubas of Fullerton; six grandchildren, Scott, Luke, Jasmine, Bret, Tracy, and Kim; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two brothers, Oliver (Kathleen) Nesbitt of Lincoln and Lowell Nesbitt of Imperial.
