Obituary for Donna Lou (Dufoe) Hansen FULLERTON—Mrs. Donna Lou Hansen, formerly Donna Lou Dufoe, 94, of Fullerton, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Fullerton Care Center and Rehabilitation. A Celebration of Life gathering of friends and family will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2018, at Fullerton Community Church in Fullerton. Inurnment will follow at Belgrade Main Cemetery in Belgrade.

Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is serving the family. Donna was born May 4, 1924, to Alvin and Ruth Douthit of Fullerton. She grew up in Fullerton and Belgrade and graduated from Belgrade High School.

Donna met Jack Dufoe of Belgrade and they were united in marriage on January 20, 1942. They had two children and were married 53 years, until Jack’s passing. Donna held many jobs in her lifetime.

Her and Jack opened and ran Jack’s Cafe in Belgrade, and above the café was the Opera House, which was a dance hall. They then both worked together at the Belgrade school doing maintenance work, cooking, cleaning, and driving bus, but most of all, they loved working with the kids! During the summers, they worked together and traveled with the Dale Thomas Carnival Show.

Donna then followed her dreams and enrolled in beauty school in Columbus. She went on to open her own beauty shop next to her home in Belgrade, until her retirement. Donna married Elmer Hansen in 1996, until he passed in 2008.

Donna had many talents and enjoyed many things about life. She loved to paint and was an avid artist. She also loved to write poems and short stories, and even had some of her stories published in the Nebraskaland Magazine.

She loved bowling, dancing, hunting, fishing, camping, and laughing and telling jokes. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, laughing and having the best of times. She is survived by her son, Terry (Willy) Dufoe of Fullerton; granddaughters, Shelly (Brent) Wiseman of Fullerton and Tammy (Todd) Wilson of Florida; and great-grandsons, Jordan and Dawson Wiseman, Steven (Regan) Holatz, and Blu Wilson.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Jack and Elmer; daughter, Shirley; her parents, Alvin and Ruth; granddaughter, Christy; sisters, Jacque, Pauline, and Vonnie; brother, Buddy; in-laws, Burt and Pearl Dufoe; sister and brother-in-laws, Beulah and Harold; and son-in-law, John.
