Obituary for Bethel Lorraine Cunningham GRAND ISLAND- Bethel Cunningham, 94, of Grand Island, formerly of Fullerton, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Tiffany Square in Grand Island. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton with Reverend Bonnie Grabowski officiating. Burial will follow at the Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, October 1st at the funeral home. Bethel was born on November 23, 1923 at home to Wilbur Reno and Alice Hazel (Helms) Kellogg in the Timber Creek area of rural Nance County. She graduated from Fullerton High School in 1941.

Prior to marrying, Bethel taught grade school in rural Nance County. On March 3, 1944, she was united in marriage to Donald Lavern Cunningham and they began their family and farming operation. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton, the Evangelical Free Church of Grand Island, and Redland’s Community Church of Grand Junction, Colorado.

She taught Sunday school, was a leader in 4-H, an auxiliary member of Gideon’s International, and worked with a mission in Quito Ecuador. Bethel also was an avid gardener. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren and engaged in house sitting as a means for traveling.

Bethel is survived by five children: Larry (Jackie) Cunningham of Palmer, Nebraska; Bonnie (Michael) Grabowski of Kansas City, Missouri; David (Asucena) Cunningham of Grand Island, Nebraska; Beverly O’Neil of Grand Junction, Colorado; and JoAnne Allrich of Danville, Indiana; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; infant son, Phillip; her parents; brothers, Raymond and Ronald; and sisters, Doris Whitney and Janice Gleason.
