Obituary for Donald C. “Don” Scarce CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Donald C. “Don” Scarce, age 80, of Centerville, Indiana, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Friends Fellowship Community. Born August 13, 1938, in Richmond, Indiana, to Chester and Inez Wickett Scarce, Don lived in Wayne County most of his life.

He was a 1958 graduate of Richmond High School. Don retired from Belden after 38 years of service. He was a member of Centerville Christian Church.

Survivors include his son, Bob Betschowa of Centerville; granddaughters, Brittney (Greg) Hornsby of Centerville, Kerri (Josh) Hooker of Lynn, Indiana, and Christine (Bobby) Boone of Liberty, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Landyn and Aubrey Hornsby; sisters, Lori (Chuck) Conroy of Mexico and Lee (Scotty) Ross of California; niece, Sheila (Rick) Bopp; nephew, Mark (Belinda) Scarce; great-niece, Haven Bopp; great-nephews, Tyler Scarce and R.J. Bopp; cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Karen Sue Scarce, who died January 10, 2015; parents; brother, William Scarce; and uncle, Byron Wickett. Visitation for Donald C. “Don” Scarce will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Sewell officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
