Don, age 94, died on June 23, 2018, at his residence in Poland, OH. His loving wife was at his side. Don, the son of Wallace and Agnus Marie Wynn, was born in Sewickley, PA on Feb 26, 1924 and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Youngstown, OH.

At 17 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served his country honorably during World War II. He was stationed in England and built WACO CG-4A gliders. He was also a certified mechanic overhauling and repairing 2000 HP Pratt & Whitney bomber engines.

When he returned home from England, his dream was to fly a plane. The government paid for his flying lessons and he became a pilot. He married Charlotte Albert on May 17, 1948 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Youngstown, OH and they had 4 children.

Don worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Campbell Works for 30 years and retired as a general foreman. He also was a property owner/manager of 2 apartment complexes prior to and during his retirement. Don was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Boardman, OH.

He was also a mason at the Wick Lodge and a member of the Retreads motorcycle group. Don loved taking rides on his Harley. He was always very active, strived to stay fit and was a member of the YMCA, Silver Sneakers group.

He loved to travel. He and Charlotte spent several winters camping in FL with friends, as well as trips throughout the USA and Europe. Don was an avid coin collector, loved spending time with family, his backyard fish pond, Handel’s Ice Cream and watching Judge Judy.

Don is survived by his wife of 70 years, Charlotte, his children, Cheryl Schuler (Rich) of Canfield, OH, Sandra Saavedra (Ray) of Wittmann, AZ, Donna Fox (Rick) of Canfield, OH and Gary Wynn of Struthers, OH; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, LaVerne Wynn and 1 grandson. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Boardman, OH on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11 am.
