Poland – Mary Ross McCaughey, 92, died June 3, 2018 at Hillcrest Hospital in Cleveland. Mrs. McCaughey was born November 9, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of David and Agnes Thompson Brownlee. She was a 1943 South High School graduate.

Mary received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Westminster in 1947. She was an Administrative Assistant at Aerorad Corp. in Youngstown and later Brinks Corp.

Mary was a member and Elder at Poland Presbyterian Church. She was an avid swimmer and golfer, and loved spending time with her family. Her husband, John F. McCaughey, whom she married April 25, 1953, died Nov.

23, 2002. She is survived by one son, J. Mark (Diane Shook) McCaughey of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Jean (Frank) Nisenboum of Cleveland and Moira (Marvin) Fair of Canfield; three grandchildren, William (Amanda) Nisenboum, Jonathon Nisenboum, and Rachelle Fair; one niece, Connie Jones; and one nephew, David Jones. Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Jones.

Services will be held at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Poland, Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery. Friends and family will be received 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Mary’s name to Case Western Reserve University, Communication Sciences Program, Stroke Group(Speak Easy), 11635 Euclid Ave. , Cleveland, OH, 44106 or Angels for Animals, 4750 West. South Range Rd.
